Forecast: Coral Sea to become more active during next week

Computer weather models are forecasting a burst of rain showers for southeast Queensland starting from early next week 25th-28th+ of January 2021 as moist easterly winds strengthen onto the SEQ Coast and combine with an unstable atmosphere. Don’t expect a lot of rain from this coastal trough system.

Severe thunderstorms are likely across southeast Queensland Saturday 16th of January 2021. The at risk area is from the border ranges up to around Gympie. This includes Brisbane and surrounding suburbs. Severe storms may produce large hail to giant hail, damaging to destructive winds and intense heavy rainfall which may cause flash flooding.
